S107 – A Son To Be Heard
Our Seder reading (Numbers 7:48-89) seems to be filled with meaningless repetition of gifts brought at the dedication of the tabernacle. But God’s Word is never redundant and no words are ever wasted when we consider the value and meaning of names! Words such as son (בן) and spoke (דבר) also forge links into the Prophet reading (Jeremiah 31:21-32) and then into Luke’s telling of the transfiguration (Luke 9:35-36). Here we get a voice from heaven and a powerful, whole-Scripture witness to the importance of Yeshua, the Chosen One, the Son of God! Let’s make a commitment to obey God’s command and listen for His Son this new civic year.Kyle A. Kettering
